2020 Uberman Announcement Video

Rob DeCou: Ultra-Endurance Athlete

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that we must constantly adapt.

I’ve been filming Rob for the last 4 years, as he’s pushed himself to the limits of human strength. From cycling across the United States to swimming the Strait of Juan de Fuca, every mile has its own story and each race has constantly evolving barriers. The 2020 Uberman was no different: while training and through the race itself, Rob faced wildfires, COVID-19 and countless other factors as he attempted to become the 7th person to ever complete the race.

Fundraising for Human Trafficking

Over the last four years, I have captured Rob’s endurance events to promote his causes. These races are larger and longer than any ‘normal race’ and truly have a global effect. In each race that Rob has completed, he has rewritten the limits.

Why? For a cause greater than himself. Over the last four years, I’ve produced video content for Rob’s campaigns, raising over $1 million for causes such as brain cancer research, polio eradication and human trafficking prevention.

For the 2020 Uberman Race, Rob partnered with three nonprofits actively working to combat human trafficking on the local, national and international level. Throughout the Uberman Race, we produced videos to accompany the social media campaign around fundraising.

The following vignettes were produced (Filmed + Edited) in real-time during the 2020 Uberman Race.

Branded Content

It has never been more important for companies to positively impact their community. In order to complete the race, while raising money and awareness for human trafficking, Rob and his team needed a corporate partner. Without hesitating, VECKTA hopped right in and tirelessly supported Rob from start to finish. VECKTA empowers companies to take hold of their own energy solutions, and their own company values were spot on with Rob’s Uberman attempt.

To recognize VECKTA and their unwavering support in the race, we produced a branded-content piece surrounding VECKTA and their involvement in The 2020 Uberman:
